Amazon will hire over 6,000 additional staff at logistics facilities across Canada. According to the company, the new jobs comprise full-time, part-time, and seasonal workers. The new hires will be responsible for responsibilities like receiving, packing, sorting, and shipping client orders across Amazon's operating network.
Amazon also announced a $70 million investment in hiring and transportation staff. As a result, the average hourly wage for employees will rise from $17 in 2018 to $21 in 2019.
