Pope Francis Stands Out Against War in West Asia

 

Pope Francis has called for an immediate halt to attacks in restive West Asia and the restoration of regional peace. The Pope requested this at a meeting with President Joe Biden. The Pope also talked about sending more supplies to Gaza. After the usual Angelus prayer in Rome's St. Peter's Square, the Pope observed, "War always causes losses and separates brothers." So far, over 1,700 children have been murdered in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. At the same time, major world leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte have been to Israel for various war-related conversations.
