Long delays in emergency departments during respiratory virus season, according to Canadian doctors, worsen the situation in hospitals. Dr. Michael Howlett, President of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, stated. The situation is similar across the country. According to a research, hospitalized patients in Ontario wait more than 22 hours in emergency departments for a bed. Within the provincial target of eight hours, 23% of patients were admitted. Doctors concur that this is a major concern.
