18 of the 20 coldest places on Earth right now are in Canada, according to The Weather Network. Environment Canada has issued a severe winter warning for many parts of Canada due to heavy snow and extreme cold. Temperatures plummeted to life-threatening levels. These include Fort Smith in the Northwest Territories, Uranium City in Saskatchewan, and several towns in Alberta.
Environment Canada said temperatures will drop to -55 degrees Celsius in Edmonton and Calgary. People in Alberta and most of Canada are living in extreme cold. A severe winter warning has even been issued for provinces and territories, including Saskatchewan.
Topping the list is the Russian city of Yakutsk. The temperature here is -46 degrees Celsius. Another cold place on the list is Sokol in Russia itself.
