The government of Alberta will allow seniors to get a waiver if they need a medical exam to renew their driver's license. A 25 percent discount has been announced for driver's medical exam for those aged 75 years or above. A medical exam is required at ages 75 and 80 and every two years thereafter to ensure fitness to drive. Alberta Health Care does not cover the cost of an examination by a physician or nurse practitioner.

Registry will process the refund once the test is done for seniors. It will be sent via email within 10 days, officials said.
