MUMBAI: Kalki 2898 AD box office collection has achieved best collection on its ninth day. The film, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, has grossed Rs 709.3 crore in the global business till Friday, according to data from Moobi Business Tracker.
According to Saknilk, the film has so far grossed ₹514.3 crore at the domestic box office and ₹195 crore in the overseas market. Kalki 2898 AD earned 95.3 crores in India on its release day. Then the first week collection was 414.85 crores.
The high budget sci-fi film was released in theaters on June 27 in six languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English. According to the official release of the makers Vyjayanthi Movies, the film crossed the Rs 700 crore mark on Thursday in terms of worldwide collections across all languages. Trade analysts estimate that the film will cross the Rs 1000 crore mark in its second weekend with this kind of progress.
Directed by nationally acclaimed Telugu director Nag Ashwin, Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is set in the epic epic Mahabharata and ends in 2898 AD. Santosh Narayanan has composed the music for the film.
The film is a strong comeback of Prabhas. The film is rich in action romantic scenes of Prabhas in Hollywood still. And Prabhas really evolves into the hero of the film towards the climax. So it is Prabhas who carries all the funny moments in the film. Kalki's success indicates Prabhas' strong comeback.
