Beirut: Indian citizens warned not to travel to Lebanon amid tensions The Indian Embassy in Beirut has informed that non-essential travel should be avoided. Those in Lebanon should exercise caution and limit travel. The embassy also informed that they should be in touch with the Indian embassy. The embassy has informed through social media that the warning is being issued in the context of the recent situation in the country.
The current conflicts started after 12 children were killed in a rocket attack on the Golan Heights. It is alleged that Hezbollah is behind this attack. In response to this, Israel launched an airstrike in South Lebanon on Tuesday. The Israeli army claimed that Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr was killed in this attack. After the Hamas attack in Israel on the 7th of October last year, the Israel Defense Forces accused Fuad of continuous attacks against Israel.
