Jeddah Tower to break Burj Khalifa's record; It will be completed in 2028

Riyadh: The construction of the tallest tower in the world has resumed in Jeddah. The Jeddah Economic Company, a subsidiary of the Kingdom Holding Company, resumed construction after a gap of seven years. It is expected to be completed by 2028. It is considered one of the most important architectural projects in Saudi Arabia as it becomes the tallest skyscraper in the world at over a kilometer high.

Construction started in 2013. The 157-storey tower complex will have five star hotels, standard hotels, tourist resorts, shopping malls, commercial establishments, residential units, offices, educational institutions, observation tower and entertainment centers. The construction of 63 floors out of 157 floors has been completed. 59 elevators and 12 escalators have been installed. Construction of the facades, made of 80 tons of steel and energy insulating glass, has already been completed. Once completed, Saudi Arabia will become the only country to have two of the five tallest towers in the world. Apart from this Jeddah Tower which is one kilometer high, the other is the Clock Tower in Makkah which is 601 meters high.
