Modi in Kazan for BRICS summit; A meeting with Xi Jinping is likely and crucial issues will be discussed

Kazan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Kazan, Russia for the BRICS Summit, may hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a statement before his departure, the Prime Minister indicated that he would hold talks with all the BRICS leaders. The Indian community also welcomed Modi in Russia. India and China announced yesterday that they have reached an agreement on troop withdrawal and patrolling along the Line of Control. The agreement between the two countries is that a team of fifteen soldiers can patrol twice a month.

Army presence will be reduced in winter. If the Narendra Modi-Xi Jinping meeting takes place, further steps will be discussed. The Prime Minister arrived in Kazan, Russia on a two-day visit. Kazan is the venue for the 16th summit of the BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) grouping. Modi had a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Modi said his two visits to Russia in the last three months reflected the deep friendship between the two countries.

The annual summit held in Moscow in July strengthened India-Russia cooperation in all sectors. In 15 years, BRICS has created its own distinct identity. Now many countries of the world want to join it. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been constantly linked. Modi also said that he wants the issues to be resolved in a peaceful manner. India prioritizes humanity. Modi added that India is ready to provide all possible cooperation in the coming times.
