US has repatriated around 1,100 Indian citizens

 

 

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has said that around 1,100 Indian nationals who were staying in the country illegally were repatriated in the fiscal year 2023-2024. The action is part of controlling illegal immigration. DHS also stated that there were no minor Indian citizens among the deportees.

About 160,000 people from different countries were sent back. For this, 495 flight services were conducted to 145 countries. DHS stated that foreign nationals who cannot legally remain in the United States are repatriated in cooperation with the governments of their respective countries. Apart from promoting legal immigration, the measures are being tightened to prevent the smuggling and exploitation of ordinary people by transnational criminal networks.
