Meta's messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly preparing a bill payment system in India. Gadget 360 reported that Meta is testing a direct bill payment feature in the WhatsApp 2.25.3.15 Android beta version.

WhatsApp already has a UPI payment system. WhatsApp is currently beta testing a feature that will allow users to make bill payments. This beta testing was discovered by Android Authority. Beta testing information indicates that electricity bill payments, mobile prepaid recharges, LPG gas payments, landline postpaid bills, and rent payments will be able to be made directly from WhatsApp. However, it is not clear when this WhatsApp feature will be available to general users after the test is completed.

WhatsApp is also planning to make its event scheduling feature available to private chats soon. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS (25.2.10.73) has already enabled this new feature. Users will be allowed to add locations or links to audio and video calls when planning events. This feature was previously only available in group chats.
