California: Mark Zuckerberg-owned Meta is reportedly developing hardware and software for humanoid robots. Bloomberg reported that a new team formed within Meta's Reality Labs division will begin building hardware for humanoid robots that can help with household chores. Meta is investing heavily in the futuristic robots category, which can act like humans and help with physical tasks.

Meta says that various companies will manufacture and sell the basic AI sensors and software for the robots. In addition, reports say that it is in talks with companies such as Unitree Robotics and Figure AI to build a Meta-branded humanoid.

This means that Meta may not initially release a robot that it has developed in-house. But Meta may also try to achieve the same success that Google and Qualcomm have achieved in the smartphone space with Android and Snapdragon chips. Various reports say that Meta does not plan to sell branded robots, but rather plans to build prototypes and hardware that will serve as the basis for humanoid robots.
