A complaint is being raised that provincial parks are incorrectly recorded as state parks on Google Maps. Many have responded that this is an attack on Canadian identity. Many see this as a continuation of the American threat to Canadian culture and autonomy.
After noticing the error, many have suggested that it be edited. Many have come forward to mark the error and suggest that it be edited. There are comments that they are proud to be Canadians and that they will take the same stance against the increasingly hostile stance from the United States. However, a Google spokesperson explained that due to the similarities in state and provincial parks, they are used interchangeably in Google's backend systems. Google said that the process of updating the labels of the parks is ongoing.
