Hyundai car owners in Canada are complaining that the paint on their white Hyundai cars is peeling. Media reports indicate that similar complaints have been raised in Canada, the United States, South Africa and Australia. Those facing the problem have also shared posts on several Facebook groups. It is reported that a case has been filed against Hyundai in Quebec over the issue. The complainants say they are not even able to wash their cars for fear of the paint peeling.

However, despite the complaints, Hyundai Canada has responded in a statement that the problems are rare and isolated incidents. Meanwhile, online reports suggest that Hyundai Canada's warranty program only covers paint for three years or 60,000 kilometers. However, Hyundai USA is offering a paint warranty extension for 2017 and 2018 Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe Sport vehicles.

The company said that some white cars are experiencing paint peeling, and owners should contact their local dealership or Hyundai's customer care center. Stephen Gaisky, a chemical engineer, says the problem is caused by the way the paint is applied to the cars. He said that the paint of a vehicle should last for at least 10 to 15 years. He also clarified that the defects in the application of paint are frustrating to the owners. The cost of repairing and painting the car is also very high. This will also be a setback for the owners. Therefore, the owners are demanding that Hyundai take action.
