Family of Indian student left comatose after car accident gets emergency visa to travel to US

 

 

The family of Indian student Neelam Shinde, who was left comatose after a car accident in the US, has been granted an emergency visa to travel to the US. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs had requested the US to issue a visa to Neelam Shinde's family. The US government granted the visa following this.

Neelam's father and brother were granted visas to travel to the US. Neelam Shinde, who is in a coma, is being treated in the hospital with serious injuries. She suffered serious injuries to her head, arms and chest. Neelam's condition remains stable even after emergency surgery. Meanwhile, the Sacramento police have arrested 58-year-old Lawrence Gallo, who was driving the vehicle. Neelam was hit by a car in California on February 14.
