Ontario responds to US tariffs. The Ontario government announced that it has started withdrawing American liquor from the LCBO in the wake of the tariffs. It also canceled the agreement between Ontario and Elon Musk's Starlink internet. The Ford government is immediately implementing the retaliatory measures that Ontario initiated a few weeks ago.

Ontario imports $965 million in alcohol annually. In addition, 3,600 American products from 36 states are on sale. Ford has said it will stockpile and resell the alcohol if the tariffs are lifted. Meanwhile, Amazon, one of the world’s largest alcohol buyers, took American liquor offline for a limited time on Tuesday to remove it.

The Ford government is retaliating by canceling a $100 million contract with Musk’s SpaceX company to provide Starlink satellite internet to thousands of homes in Northern Ontario.
